Key Responsibilities – Geriatric Medicine
- Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments, including functional, cognitive, psychological, and social evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage complex medical conditions in elderly patients, including multimorbidity, frailty, and polypharmacy.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans focusing on long-term health, rehabilitation, and quality of life.
- Manage chronic diseases such as dementia, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and social workers.
- Provide falls risk assessment, mobility management, and rehabilitation planning.
- Support end-of-life care, palliative care, and advanced care planning discussions.
- Optimise medication management and address polypharmacy risks in elderly patients.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs.
- Maintain accurate and compliant electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, geriatric care standards, and hospital protocols.
