Nuclear Medicine Physician Jobs in Dubai, UAE at Careerlink HR
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear imaging procedures, including PET, SPECT, and hybrid imaging (e.g., PET/CT and SPECT/CT) to diagnose various medical conditions.
- Interpret nuclear medicine imaging results and provide accurate, detailed reports to referring physicians.
- Administer radionuclide therapies (e.g., radioiodine therapy, Yttrium-90 therapy) for the treatment of cancers and other diseases.
- Monitor and ensure patient safety, adhering to radiation protection protocols to minimise exposure to ionising radiation.
- Manage patient care before, during, and after nuclear medicine procedures, including patient consultation and follow-up.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including radiology, oncology, cardiology, and surgery, to determine the best course of action for patient care.
- Participate in the evaluation and development of new imaging techniques, protocols, and therapies in nuclear medicine.
- Supervise and train junior medical staff, radiographers, and technologists in nuclear medicine procedures and safety protocols.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in nuclear medicine, applying evidence-based practices to patient care.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of nuclear medicine equipment, including quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards for radiation safety and medical ethics.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nuclear Medicine
- 3-5 years of experience working in nuclear medicine.
- Valid medical license to practice
- Experience in advanced imaging technologies such as PET/CT, SPECT, and therapeutic applications of nuclear medicine.
- Certification in Radiation Safety and/or Radiopharmaceutical Handling is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in nuclear imaging interpretation and radionuclide therapy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other healthcare professionals and explain procedures to patients.
- Attention to detail and precision in performing procedures and interpreting results.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient safety and ethical medical practices.
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Arabic is an advantage but not required).
